To uninstall Internet Explorer and Outlook Express from Windows Registry, please try the following. This should work in Windows 2000, Windows XP and later:

WARNING: Editing Windows Registry can have serious consequences.

You are editing at your own risk.

1. Click Start – Run

2. Type “regedit” and press enter to launch the Windows Registry Editor.

3. To uninstall Internet Explorer

On the left panel, Navigate to the key

4. In the right-pane, change the value of the IsInstalled (REG_DWORD) value from “1″ to “0″

This will uninstall Internet Explorer from Windows Registry.

5. To uninstall Outlook Express

On the left panel, Navigate to the key

6. In the right-pane, change the value of the IsInstalled (REG_DWORD) value from 1 to 0

This will uninstall Outlook Express from Windows Registry.

The procedure involves

1. Backing up emails

2. Backing up (export) Address Book

3. Backing up (export) Mail Accounts

Backup EMails

Backup the outlook Express mails to a seperate folder by doing the following:

1. Open Outlook Express, click Tools and then Options.

2. Click the Maintenance tab then Store Folder.

3. Copy the storage location path.

4. Click Cancel, Cancel to close the dialog box.

5. Now, Click Start – Run, paste the path copied and click OK.

6. Once the folder opens, copy all the files in the folder [.dbx file] and paste then onto a new folder [say MailBackup] on the C:\ drive.

Backup Address Book

Export the Address book in the CSV format to the MailBackup folder by doing the following:

1. Open Outlook Express, click File – Export and select Address Book.

2. Select Text File (Comma Separated Values) and click Export.

3. Browse and select the MailBackup folder as the backup location and name the file[say as, BackupAdd.CSV].

6. Click Next.

7. Select the fields that you want to export, and then click Finish.

8. Click OK and then Close.

Backup Mail Account

Backup the Mail Account onto the MailBackup folder by doing the following:

1. Open Outlook Express, click Tools then Accounts.

2. Click the Mail tab, then the mail account to export, and click Export.

3. In the Save In box, locate the Mail Backup folder and click Save.

4. Repeat these steps for each mail account that you want to export.

5. Click Close.

Backup News Account: Backup News accounts (if any) using the above procedure where in Step 2, click the News tab instead of the Mail tab.

With this the Backup completes. Now, proceed with the following to restore the Outlook Express mails. All the data backed up needs to be restored back using the Import function. If there are multiple identities from which Backup has been done then each identity has to be created seperately and the following procedure should be repeated for each account.

Restore Email messages

1. Open the Outlook Express, click File, Import, and click Messages.

2. In the Select an e-mail program to import from box, click Microsoft Outlook Express 5 or Microsoft Outlook Express 6, and click Next.

3. Click Import mail from an OE5 store directory or Import mail from an OE6 store directory, and then click OK.

4. Click Browse, and then click on the Mail Backup folder on your system.

5. Click OK, and then click Next.

6. Click All folders, click Next, and click Finish.

Restore Address Book:

1. Open Outlook Express, click File, Import, and then click Other Address Book.

2. Click Text File (Comma Separated Values), and then click Import.

3. Click Browse.

4. Locate the Mail Backup folder on your system, click the address book .csv file, and click Open.

5. Click Next, and then click Finish.

6. Click OK, and click Close.

Restore Account Settings:

1. Open Outlook Express, click Tools, Accounts.

2. On the Mail tab, click Import.

3. In the Look In box, locate the Mail Backup folder on your system.

4. Click the mail account that you want to import, and then click Open.

5. Repeat these steps for each mail account that you want to import.

6. Click Close.

Restore Newsgroup Account:

Restore the Newsgroup account the same way as above where in Step 2, Select news tab instead of the Mail tab.

Access the Facebook home page and log in using the email address and password you originally registered with (see Resources below). If you’ve forgotten you password, click on “Log in” and follow the link to reset your password.

Head to the “My Account” page using the link from the menu.

Follow the “Click Here” link under the Deactivate Account section. You will be taken to a short form to fill out before you close your account.

Tell Facebook why you’re leaving. Select the radio button next to the reason for deactivating your account. There is also space to write other comments.

Opt in or out of Facebook emails. Even if you account is deactivated, your friends can still invite you to events or ask you to join groups. If you don’t want any email from Facebook at all, check the appropriate box.

Click the “Deactivate” button. You will be taken to a page confirming your account deactivation.
Reactivate a Deleted Facebook Account

Step 1

Head to the Facebook Web site to reactivate your account.

Step 2

Log in to Facebook as if you’d never left. Use your original email address and password.

Check your registered email account for a confirmation email from Facebook with directions on how to reactivate your account.

Follow the link in the email. You will be taken to your home page, which will appear exactly how you left it. All your settings and events are intact upon reactivation. All you have to do is start exploring again.

Click on Start and then Run.

In the text box in the Run window, type regedit and click OK. This will open the Registry Editor program.

Locate the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE folder under My Computer and click on the (+) sign next the folder name to expand the folder.

Continue to expand folders until you reach the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\Current Version\WPAEvents registry key.

Click on the WPAEvents folder.
6.

In the results that appear in the window on the right, locate OOBETimer.
7.

Right-click on the OOBETimer entry and choose Modify from the resulting menu.
8.

Change at least one digit in the Value data text box and click OK. This will deactivate Windows XP.

Feel free to close Registry Editor at this point.

Click on Start and then Run.
10.

In the text box in the Run window, type the following command and click OK.

When the Let’s activate Windows window appears, choose Yes, I want to telephone a customer service representative to activate Windows and then click Next.

Click the Change Product Key button at the bottom of the window.

Don’t worry about filling anything out on this screen.

Type your new, valid Windows XP product key in the New key: text boxes and then click the Update button.
14.

You should now reactivate Windows XP by following the instructions on the Activate Windows by phone window which you should now be seeing or via the Internet by clicking the Back button and following the instructions on that screen.

If you’d rather postpone activating Windows XP until a later date, you can click the Remind me later button.

After activating Windows XP, you can verify that activation was successful by repeating steps 9 and 10 above.

The Windows Product Activation window that appears should say “Windows is already activated. Click OK to exit.”

To change MAC-Address for a Network card in Windows Registry:

1. Click Start – Run, type “regedit”

2. Navigate to

3. Under this key, you shoud see numbers in sequence as “0000″, “0001″ and so on. Click on one at a time to check the description of the device to match it with that of your Network Card. In my case (0001)

4. Once found, in the right-pane, look for “NetworkAddress” key value. If you find it, right-click and select modify. Enter the desired MAC-Address as a 12 digit number (all in one, no “space” “.” or “-”)

5. If you don’t find the key, right-click in the rightpane, select “New” – “String Value”. Enter the name as “NetworkAddress”. Now modify and set the desired value.

6. Now, disable and enable the Network card from the ControlPanel – Network Connections.

This should reflect the new MAC-Address on your NIC. Should you choose to go back to the original manufacturer set MAC-Address simply delete the key you just created/modified in the Windows Registry.
